You have to try new things

My day job is as a Senior Finished Artist (which has nothing to do with the Fine Arts) is making product packaging and adverts into print ready artwork… something I trained long and hard to master under the guidance of skilled technicians and many experienced Creative Art Directors. It’s a skill like anything worth doing but what I do is for the client, the brand and the parent company…

All good but apart from walking the Supermarket aisles and saying “look kids I did that!” It’s just a job.

Painting on the other hand is something you have to just do yourself, no one can tell you which colour to use, no one can show you how to put the paint on the canvas…

T have a go at painting you have to leave the world of collaborative team Design and become the master of your own technique, take the plunge and let go of all the what if’ thoughts … So I thought I'd give Vincent Van Gogh a try and see how he did it - no big deal… Just give it a go! Get out of your comfort zone and get on with it.
